  10. My serial port was recently damaged by a lightning strike through
  11. the phone line and modem.  The port no longer works and I heard
  12. a suggestion that a fuse may have been blown.  I located four of
  13. the fuses (LittleFuse Pico-II 4A) on the same general area of the
  14. motherboard and attempted to test them.  I measured no resistance
  15. and no voltage drop across each of them, with the computer either
  16. on or off.  This seems to indicate that they are all OK, but it's
  17. tough to say with them still on the board.  There is also no
  18. visible damage or deformation to them.
