- My serial port was recently damaged by a lightning strike through
- the phone line and modem. The port no longer works and I heard
- a suggestion that a fuse may have been blown. I located four of
- the fuses (LittleFuse Pico-II 4A) on the same general area of the
- motherboard and attempted to test them. I measured no resistance
- and no voltage drop across each of them, with the computer either
- on or off. This seems to indicate that they are all OK, but it's
- tough to say with them still on the board. There is also no
- visible damage or deformation to them.
-
- Any comments or suggestions?
- Thanks,
